Grant For Small Black Business

USDA Rural Business Development Grants

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), offers Rural Business Development Grants to non-urban entities. This includes small businesses, towns, and non-profit corporations. The grants are typically between $10,000 and $500,000 in value and can be used for real estate, equipment, and development of business plans.

This is not only for minority businesses. However, there are three essential qualifications.

  • Employers must be fewer than 50
  • Your annual gross revenue must not exceed $1 million
  • You must reside in a rural or urban area

The USDA defines rural as an area of less than 50,000 people, but it doesn’t have to be adjacent to an urban area with more than 50,000 residents. Check with the USDA’s Rural Development office in your state before you apply.
