Written and produced by Ted Demme, ‘Blow’ is directed by Ted Demme, ‘Blow’ is a biographical crime film that is based on the rise and decline of George Jung, a cocaine smuggler during the 1970s and 1980s. The story is based on the legends that tell of George Jung, Pablo Escobar Carlos Lehder Rivas with The Medellin Cartel; it follows George Jung ( Johnny Depp) on his journey to becoming a marijuana smuggler after he relocates to Massachusetts in Los Angeles and meets Derek Foreal (Paul Reubens) through a stewardess called Barbara Buckley (Franka Potente). George and his childhood pal Tuna (Ethan Suplee) operate the lucrative company together. However, the business comes to an end when George is detained.

George gets sent to Federal prison after attempting to escape his first sentence of two years. He is in the presence of Diego Delgado (Jordi Molla) in prison, who persuades George to change to cocaine as his main drug of trade. When George was is released from prison and travels to Colombia, he establishes his own business in that of the Medellin cartel. The film is set in various locations such as Massachusetts, Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Illinois, Mexico, and Colombia and is a true representation of the period in the story. Blow Filming Locations

“Blow” was filmed. The film was shot in Los Angeles County and the city of Ontario in California, and Chicago, Illinois. Certain locations in Mexico were also utilized as filming locations to film the film. Filming began on the 2nd of February 2000 and ended in May of that same year. Los Angeles County, California

George Jung’s career as a con man begins with the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles. A massive mansion on 918 North Alpine Drive in Beverly Hills was used as a backdrop for the lavish lifestyle George lives along with his partner Mirtha Jung ( Penelope Cruz) in the film.

Pasadena is yet another town in LA County that the production team chose to bring their movie to life. The scene where George is picking up his child Kristina after school was recorded in James Madison Elementary at 515 East Ashtabula Street. George drops off his daughter at a house that is situated at 858 North Oakland Avenue, Pasadena.

Scenes from George’s earlier days were shot in residence located on 6216 Friends Avenue in the city of Whittier. Other locations in the area in which the biopic was shot include a liquor shop situated at 506 Center Street in El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, and Palmdale.

Ontario, California

A handful of scenes were made at Ontario City in San Bernardino County, located in the southern part of California. It is located to the east of Los Angeles; it is the home of Ontario International Airport at 1828 Moore Way, which served as the backdrop to scenes in the film that were shot at Los Angeles International Airport.
