In the case of the sequel in the series Portal Knights, it’s expected to be released in 2023. It’s developed using Keen Games’ new engine, allowing developers to build an “massive, living open world that is fully interactive and terraform-able.”

Both are centered around exploration and craft. Both are procedurally created. Since the very start, Portal Knights is unashamed in drawing heavily from Minecraft. After my experience with Portal Knights it feels like something completely different.
