The Elder Scrolls Online (abbreviated ESO) is an online multiplayer role-playing game ZeniMax Online Studios developed. Bethesda Softworks published it. It was released on Windows and OS X in April 2014. It is part of the Elder Scrolls Series.
The gameplay is mostly nonlinear and includes a mix of quests, random events and free roaming exploration of the world. Although it does not offer single-player offline play the developers said there would be plenty of content for solo online play.
