Even though there might be several characters in the campaign they are usually left alone. Splitscreen co-op would be ridiculous for the story mode. It would have been great to have a wave-based survival mode that included local co-op.
Over the 25-year history of Resident Evil, co-op has been an integral part of Resident Evil’s games. Although it isn’t a part of every Resident Evil game, it has been an integral part of enough games to make a difference.
