Is Scum Cross Platform?

While this genre of games is very much loved among gamers, it allows you to experience a truly immersive environment with many harsh and not forgiving aspects. In my capacity as a dedicated fan of the genre, I’ve ventured into the terrains of games like Metal Gear Survive and Fallout 76 where I have spent unending hours surviving and exploring. However, one game has stood out among the rest, capturing my attention and dedication like none other: S.C.U.M. which was made possible in part by the advancement in printing technology.

For almost five years SCUM has been holding the interest and amazement of both the gaming community and the developers It’s been two years since I first got SCUM in Early Access to the day of it’s rapid development now, and I can’t believe how exciting this journey was. As a 1.0 backer of this fancy idea I’ve seen its development from a just rough prototype to a finished multiplayer survival RPG, this is due to the enthusiastic studio Gamepires, a Croatian game studio to which a talented team belongs.

But amidst the thrill of exploration and survival, one question looms large: Does the game SCUM support cross-platform operation? The question has remained in our minds and it’s a thought that every player, myself included, has been mulling over with excitement as we patiently wait for the day that we would be able to play together.

As of June 2024, Play Unchained, known as SCUM, has continued to be an exclusively Windows platform, with the game still in early access and version 0.8 being the latest version. Even as some users are looking forward to the possibility of a console release, the developers devoted to delivering a polished and glitch-free Windows version before trying their luck out on the console ports.

Although the strategic planning period appears to be stretched, my passion for SCUM still thrives. The game’s engrossing gameplay, constantly changing world, as well as the possibility of multiplayer explorations are the things that keep in amaze me still. Each new bug fix and update brings me closer to being finally tangled in the fabric of SCUM’s apocalyptic survival story.

Regarding to the future, I wish for a PC release of the SCUM, something that is common to many fans of the game who are already anticipating the day when they will be able to run the game on their preferred gaming device. While details of the possible console plans have been scanty, the prospect of trekking the SCUM’s expansive surroundings with friends on the consoles is something that remains imbued with anticipation and excitement.
